Frederico Lemos as CCO will support the internationalization strategy of Embraer Defense & Security and further strengthen the company’s position in providing defense solutions.

Embraer, a leading aerospace company, has named Frederico Lemos as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for international businesses of Embraer Defense & Security. This strategic move reinforces Embraer’s commitment to expanding its presence in the global market. Embraer continues to strengthen its leadership in the defense sector with the aim of accelerating its internationalization efforts. The appointment comes following the appointment of Bosco da Costa Junior as President & CEO of Embraer Defense & Security in November 2022.

Embraer’s appointment of Frederico Lemos as Chief Commercial Officer reflects the company’s commitment to driving growth in the defense sector and expanding its global footprint. With his extensive background in defense sales and business development, Lemos is well-positioned to support the internationalization strategy of Embraer Defense & Security and further strengthen the company’s position as a leading provider of capable and efficient defense solutions.

Lemos has previously served as the Sales Vice-President in Europe and the Middle East for Embraer Defense & Security, playing a crucial role in key campaigns such as the KC-390 in Portugal.

Bosco da Costa Junior, President & CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, expressed his confidence in Lemos said, “Frederico has greatly contributed to the success of Embraer Defense & Security. During his eight years as Sales Vice-President in Europe and the Middle East, he was responsible for key campaigns in our business, such as the KC-390 in Portugal. I’m very pleased to have again Frederico’s competence and support to execute the internationalization strategy for Embraer Defense & Security.”

Lemos, who will assume his new role on June 1, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the position. He started his professional journey in the Portuguese Air Force and subsequently joined OGMA and Embraer Defense, where he held various positions in Business Development and Sales. Lemos has also served as the CEO of EID SA, a Defense Communications Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) based in Portugal since 2020.

Expressing his enthusiasm for returning to Embraer Defense & Security, Frederico Lemos highlighted the company’s proven track record in developing, delivering, and supporting efficient defense solutions. He emphasized the success and value of the C-390 Millennium and the A-29 Super Tucano, two key aircraft in Embraer’s defense portfolio.
