Jun 2, 2017: VD Gulf shared its expertise on ways for airlines to optimise their aircraft maintenance budgets by addressing delegates at Aviation Week’s annual ‘Airline Engineering and Maintenance’ conference in Abu Dhabi.
VD Gulf’s director general, Mikhail Khoroshaev presented the company’s views on important factors in fleet maintenance strategy, areas of enhancement in relation to spare parts supplies, and an analysis of the impact of oil prices on the lifespan of legacy aircraft. VD Gulf also provided recommendations to airlines on how to avoid unnecessary pitfalls in their rush to decrease maintenance costs.
Delegates also expressed interest in VD Gulf’s comments on the necessities and challenges of working on end-of-lease aircraft maintenance and satisfying the various interests of lessors & lessees.
The 2017 conference was attended by more than 150 participants, 90 percent of which were representatives of Middle East airlines, regional aviation authorities and OEMs.
