November 17, 2017: Emirates and Thales has signed an agreement to equip their latest Boeing 777X fleet with the most recent generation broadband inflight connectivity using Inmarsat GX Global Network.
Over the years, Emirates has considerably invested to equip its aircraft with connectivity. Demand for Wi-Fi on board has been progressively increasing and at present over 800,000 passengers per month connect while inflight. The collaboration with Thales and Inmarsat will give Emirates customers better connectivity on its Boeing 777X aircraft due for delivery starting in 2020.
Emirates and Thales have lately contracted to fit Emirates’ Boeing 777X fleet with the most modern generation Thales AVANT inflight entertainment system.
The new agreement is part of the Emirates and Thales’s plans to develop inflight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) for the 777X fleet and improve Emirates’ award-winning inflight passenger experience.
