5 December, 2017: The Hyderabad Metro Rail, world’s largest public private partnership mode venture for an elevated metro rail, was inaugurated by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India and state chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The Metro Rail equipped with the Advanced Signalling & Train Control technology by Thales covers over 30 km.
In December 2012, Larsen & Toubro selected Thales in India for providing India’s first Signalling System with Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) and Integrated Communications and supervision (ICS) systems for Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. Besides the CBTC signalling, Thales has delivered its complete ICS package, composed by Data Transmission, Passenger Announcement, Passenger Information Display, Fault Reporting Facilities, Office Automation and Information Technology, CCTV, Access Control and Intrusion Detection, Master Clock, Telephony, Voice Recording and Radio Tetra systems.
